The use of precious jewels to enhance the spiritual quest does not belong to antiquity alone, and surely these and so many other gems cannot be casually dismissed as superstitious trinkets or as the play toys of the religious fringe. For, then and now, stones and minerals — the produce of the earth — have inherent spiritual qualities that can help bring greater understanding and clarity, greater attunement and enlightenment.
