When a man is released from a prison, he recovers his freedom. The moment he steps outside the gate, he is freed from his sentence, the wardens, the walls, bars, and locks of his cell. The world lies open before him; he is free to realize the possibilities it now offers. And he is free for others: available for relationships, available for whatever demands and challenges others present him.

Freedom is never absolute; it is always relative to something else: freedom from constraints, freedom to act, freedom for others.
