In the Sutta Nipata we find a discourse by the Buddha, "The Rhinoceros Horn," in which he compares the solitary sage with the single horn of the rhinoceros. The Buddha praises the solitary life, and the refrain to every stanza of the sutta is "Wander alone, a rhinoceros horn."
