One of the great principles on which Buddha Dharma rests is that of "wisdom," which we define as "clear seeing" or "clear vision." All of the Buddha's teachings concern themselves with helping seekers develop clear vision. Buddhists talk a great deal about what it means to open the third eye, the wisdom eye of clear seeing and penetrating awareness. In fact, one of the Dalai Lama's first books was called Opening of the Wisdom-Eye.
