The sacred texts of Hinduism are quite clear in stating the Oneness of the Godhead, although that God presents itself in a great variety of aspects. I had spoken with a Hindu scholar earlier who had offered an instructive analogy: Every man is an individual, yet at the same time he is a son. He may be a father and a husband too, and a brother. He may also be a doctor, and the president of a civic organization, and a musician. Still, he is but one man.
