The word patience may have a wimpy connotation, as if you don't have the chutzpah to respond in a manly fashion. Other facets of ksanti are forbearance, fortitude, and courage — the ability to meet with adversity, whether our own or others', and not to wilt or crumble. It's a strong state of mind.
