In [Paul] Evdokimov, an Orthodox Christian to the core, one finds the evangelical passion for holiness lifted up by some of the Western Churches, particularly those of the Reformation. He was able to find and delight in what some desert monastics called the paradise of the present, the Kingdom from beyond very much within everyday life, God in the neighbor's face.
