When the call of nembutsu reaches us, the transformation of darkness into light, blind passions into enlightenment, takes place and leads to the flowering of true and real life. This transformation cannot be manipulated or forced; it happens naturally, like the ripening of fruit. The natural process of maturation gives the fruit a rich taste and texture, unlike the artificial process of ripening.
