Legally, politically, economically, geographically we can separate, but in our core, our souls, our very being, we cannot. In the deepest sense, there is no such thing as divorce.

What God has joined together, let no one separate.

What's the point of insisting there's really no such thing as divorce? For one thing, it means that we cannot dehumanize, demean, and discard someone as though that would solve anything or make us better. It means that we can't truly blame others for our problems.
