"Do not seek death. Death will find you. But seek the road which makes death a fulfillment." Dag Hammarskjold writes in Markings. Letting be thus is a willingness to die, not a will to die, a willingness to walk alone, not a will to walk alone, and openness to the mystery is a hope to live in the face of death, a hope of companionship in the face of aloneness, a hope that is fulfilled.
