Today, or very soon, we absolutely must learn to believe that the divinity of the entire universe reveals itself in all that is good in all of the world's religious traditions, in all that calls us to treat our fellow human beings and the universe itself with greater love and compassion and dignity. We must also believe, contrary to so much evidence in the world today, that the human race as a whole is moving toward greater understanding of itself and the universe it inhabits, and that perhaps the next phase of our history must be to reintegrate the spirit into our understanding of the physical universe.
