Clinging to moments that have passed precludes knowing the newness of each moment. . . . Beauty is indeed beautiful and fresh precisely because it is always new, spontaneous, and in the moment. It's special because it can't be preserved or recreated. With this comprehension comes the ability to see beauty in every fragile facet of life, even in the fading of a flower or the aging of a friend.
