Trungpa Rinpoche called this openness [of mind] a soft spot, because it's like a spot you have that's so raw and tender that when you touch it, you feel something. In the Shambhala tradition this is your humanity. Your soft spot allows you to experience the warmth of the sun, a little bug's journey across a windowpane, an ache in your shoulder, or anything. Without it, you wouldn't be human or alive.
