Give to Caesar the coins that bear his image but give to God the human beings created in the divine image. [Mark 12:17]
This is not a command to pay taxes but a teaching about our divine identity. Jesus doesn't really care what happens to the coins that bear Caesar's image but he cares deeply that we who bear God's image be given totally in God's will and God's reign.
I am grateful to be made in the divine image and I pray that I reflect God in all that I say and do this day.— Ron Miller, Wisdom of the Carpenter
