Your generation of bodhicitta, the altruistic aspiration to attain enlightenment for the benefit of others, should then be complemented with the practice of the four immeasurables: love, compassion, joy, and equanimity. These are factors that will give great impetus to your realization of the altruistic mind and will also greatly enhance it.
