It is not the activities in themselves which necessarily give us pleasure, but how we are with them. Or how they are with us. For pleasure is a gift. We can't force pleasure to happen. We can only play our part in being open to what is presented to us. We can develop our sensitivity to the spiritual even if we can never create it on demand. Pleasure: a kind of homecoming.
