Each of us, Wisdom teaches, bears in a special way a particular name of God, a particular color of the rainbow that is our own innermost nature but seeks its fulfillment through participation in the whole. As Jacob Boehme puts it, "I am a string in the concert of God's joy." It's a lovely image, since it contains both uniqueness and solidarity — the concert can manifest only if there are other instruments in the orchestra as well.
