What else is Christian spirituality except watching and praying, watching prayerfully and praying watchfully? Prayer never stands by itself. It is always bound up with watching. Here I want to talk about the watching, which goes with true praying, and to which true prayer is supposed to lead us. Praying is good, but watching is better.
