Today my silent pledge to my loved ones is this: I want you to feel free of self-consciousness when you are around me — even if you are upset. I want you to be able to say anything to me — even what you don't mean. I want you to be so comfortable that you don't even think it's necessary to notice I'm here. The experience of Love includes no need for me to be defensive. Nor does it demand that I be respected, honored, or acknowledged.
