A Christian understanding of wu-wei is reflected in the popular phrase "let go and let God." This wise saying encourages us to trust deeply in the grace of God at work in our lives and serenely to let go of things that we cannot change at the present time. The path of wu-wei is based on the belief that the Tao, the principle of reality, is ultimately benevolent; we do not have to resist, or meddle, or interfere with the flow of life. Similarly, "letting go and letting God" rests on the conviction of faith that "all things work together for good for those who love God" (Rom 8:28).
