We can't secure anyone's well-being unless we secure everyone's. And we can't uncover our true identity unless we uncover everyone's because it's the same identity, the same ocean. The sage Shantideva said:

One should always look straight at sentient beings as if drinking them in with the eyes, thinking, "Relying on them alone, I shall attain buddhahood."
