The missing faculty for a Westerner is quite likely to be the very opposite of what an Easterner needs. If it is the feeling nature and capacity for relatedness that is missing in the Westerner's character (which is often the case), then these are the faculties that the Westerner must nurture and learn to honor. An Easterner's missing qualities are apt to be his or her capacity to cope with the physical world and maintain awareness of ordinary practicality.
