We have accepted what the old Celtic Christians called "green martyrdom." Red martyrs died for their faith, while white martyrs entered the way of pilgrimage, wandering, and exile. Green martyrs, on the other hand, knew the heroism and the sanctity of faithfulness to the ordinary. Green martyrs understood the discipline of the craftsman and the patience of the harvester.
