"He who sings prays twice," said a sign in Gothic script posted in our choir room at church. For a long time I stared at that during rehearsals and wondered what it meant. Then I understood it a little bit. When you sing a song, it stays with you; it sticks in your craw and repeats forever in your mind until you get a new song to get rid of it. It's like praying without ceasing.
