Search Spiritual Practices
S&P's Spiritual Practices Database contains more than 1,000 classic and informal practices from many sources and traditions.
To add to the value of this searchable database, S&P's editors have coded each practice by the religious or spiritual tradition from which it comes and a teacher who recommends it. We provide links to reviews of the book or other source of the practice so you can find similar ones. And we have coded all the practices by keywords and types.
Here are some tips for good searches in the Spiritual Practices Database.
• Use the name and source fields if you are interested in practices from a particular teacher.
• Use the keyword field to find practices for a wide variety of situations. To see the possibilities, browse the list of 700+ keywords used by S&P's editors.
• One of the most useful searches finds practices according to Type. In addition to the Content Types seen throughout the website, we've added Practice Types just for this database. You can look for Body Practices, Creativity Practices, Devotional Practices, Home Practices, Inner Work Practices, Justice/Activism Practices, Mind Practices, and more.
We will be adding many more practices to this database. We welcome your suggestions and submissions.
