“The worldview of Jainism offers a unique path for spiritual cultivation. While many aspects of Jain Dharma are identifiable in other dharmic faiths, Jainism’s particular emphasis on non-violence and its insistence on non-absolutism are unique. The spread of Jainism has perhaps been limited by its strict focus on renunciate practice; however, its influence on philosophy and religion (specifically, Buddhism) is both vast and profound. Jainism offers many insights and practices that can be meaningfully applied to one’s daily life, even if one is not able to fully take up the mantle of Jainism as prescribed by orthodoxy.”
