Alexandra Kennedy, a psychotherapist and author of Your Loved One Lives on Without You, believes that grief deepens us and opens our hearts to the preciousness of life. Although many think that this process should only take about six weeks, it usually takes longer. Kennedy talks about how we can use imagination and imagery to re-create our inner relationship with loved ones who have died. The benefit here is to resolve unfinished business and to come to terms with regrets and resentments.

Kennedy also talks about dreams and grief, helping children deal with death, and ways to support the grieving process in partners or friends. There are many gifts of grief including increased wonder and an appreciation for the mystery of both life and death. The interview is conducted by Michael Toms of New Dimensions.
