One of the major challenges of parenthood in this consumer culture is an idea many children get — that because they are special, things should go their way. Their minds are constantly setting up new goals and identifying things that they want. Soon they are feeling entitled to the world on a platter.

That is certainly the case with the young girl in this children's book written by Rock S. Wilson and illustrated by Carol Dixon. Many of her wishes if she had her way are contradicted by her observant father. For example, if things were the way she wanted them, there would be no rain but her dad points out then there would also be no flowers, no trees, and no grass. In the end, her father states that it's a good thing that she doesn't always get her way because things might not always work out. She agrees.

This challenging children's book nips in the bud selfish thinking that everything is going to go the way you want.
