Since laughter is an elixir of life, those who have fathers who are always cracking jokes are very fortunate indeed. The narrator of this picture book by Australian Katrina Germein and illustrated by Tom Jellett is sometimes pleased with his light-hearted dad and at other times seems a little irritated by his comic banter.
Here is a brief sampler of his humor: "When you say, 'I'm hungry,' dad says, ' Hello, Hungry.' " Before slicing a cake for dessert, Dad announces. "There's my piece. What's everyone else having?" Tell Dad your foot hurts? "No problem. You've got another." This children's book is for kids ages 5 through 8 years.
