Colette Lafia is a San Francisco blogger, spiritual director, workshop and retreat facilitator, and part-time school librarian. She is an adjunct faculty member at Mercy Center in Burlingame, California. She says she has a passion for helping individuals connect more deeply with the presence of the sacred in their daily lives. We've appreciated her books Seeking Surrender and Comfort and Joy. Visit her website for information on her online and in-person retreats.

Raised as a Catholic, Lafia's favorite devotional resource are church bells which have been speaking to her since she was five years old. Their ancient sound still calls her to worship, silence, and a personal encounter with God.

This inspiring paperback is a guidebook to help you learn to grow and renew yourself in Divine Love. She writes: "Each of us has a Divine heart, an identity we share. We not only align ourselves with love and connect to love, but we recognize that we are love."

We were quite pleased to see that Lafia has chosen the following spiritual practices we include in our Alphabet of Spiritual Literacy as pathways to the flow of God's love: listening, wonder, trust (faith), you (who we are), openness, mystery and gratitude. These seven chapters contain excerpts from the author's spiritual journal and prayers and practices to try. The goal here is to expand and enrich our intimate relationship with God, others, and the world in which we live.
