This book grew out of an international 1991 women's encampment at the Open Spike Ranch in Oklahoma. Native American, Australian, and Hawaiian elders passed on their wisdom to the younger generation. Scout Cloud Lee, an educator and entertainer, gathered the teachings together and packaged it for other women on a spiritual journey.
The Circle Is Sacred is a salutary guide to women's ceremony and ritual. There are chapters on making altars, creating prayer bundles, using ceremonial objects, dreamstalking, vision questing, women's healing circles, entertainment as high medicine, and earth etiquette.
