There have been plenty of articles and news broadcasts about the financial struggles of the financially "squeezed" middle-class. But instead of pursuing this timely and multidimensional cultural phenomenon, writer and director Kevin McMullin has chosen to depict the well-trod theme of youth whose lives are derailed in pursuit of money.

During the summer in the 1980s, three bored teenagers who live along the Jersey Shore get their kicks ranking the bodies of rich female tourists from Bayonne, Elizabeth, Newark, and New York. The locals have labeled them "Bennys."

For fun, Alan (Keean Johnson), Smitty (Daniel Zolghadri), and Red (Alex Neustaedter) rob the houses of the rich. When a local thought to be wealthy dies, they decide to check out his house, taking Alan's brother Peter (Jaeden Martell) along as lookout. To their delight, they find a bag of gold coins. But a cop (Shea Whigham) is soon on their case. The predictable violent ending is not very memorable since there has been so little character development of the boys.
