Blue is a moody and mesmerizing film by Polish writer and director Krzysztof Kieslowski. The story revolves around the grieving process of Julie (Juliette Binoche) after her husband and young daughter are killed in an automobile accident. Wanting to blot out the past and to start a completely new life, she puts her family home up for sale and moves into an apartment. But music from her composer husband's scores barge in on her new found isolation and solitude. When Julie meets her husband's pregnant mistress, she must decide the true course of her life. With art, ambivalence, and anguish, Kieslowski plumbs the depths of mourning.
