In Portrait of a Woman, Nude Sandro (Nino Manfredi) finds his marriage to uptight Laura (Eleonora Giorgi) on the rocks. Checking out of the bohemian scene in Venice, he sees a sensual photograph of a nude at an artist's studio. Even though the model's face is turned away, Sandro is convinced she is Laura's double. The lady in the picture is Riri, a local prostitute. He meets her and is swept off his feet by her sensuality and sense of humor. Is she a clone of his wife or is Laura carrying on a double life?

Eleonora Giorgi lifts this comic movie with her dual role as Laura/Riri. She exudes heat as the woman of the streets and frigidity as the ice princess. Manfredi's frantic seeker provides the perfect foil. This movie, like Man, Woman and Child , suggests that every marriage needs a little dash of spice to keep love on alert.
