Billed as another laugh riot from the same folks (Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker) who brought us Airplane!, this comedy gets high marks for the variety of tacts it uses to tickle our funny bones. On one level, it's a good spoof of World War II spy movies. A rock singer (Val Kilmer) travels to East Germany to appear in a cultural festival and becomes caught up in a dangerous militarist scheme to reunite the two Germanys.

The films also parodies Elvis Presley movies, with Kilmer performing heartthrob rockers before entranced audiences of young girls. Top Secret! serves up a veritable smorgasbord of additional comic bits, including a takeoff of Blue Lagoon and several slapstick sequences, puns and one-liners.
