At the end of the day, we should remember to look at the good things we have done and dedicate them with the wish that this will contribute to the happiness and enlightenment of all beings. We should also be sorry about the negative attitudes we have had and really resolve to watch those delicate areas where we have difficulty maintaining a positive attitude. Dedication magnifies the benefits of positive actions and prevents them from being lost. One bad thought, one moment of anger, or another negative tendency can nullify the positive effects of a series of positive actions, whereas once dedicated, those benefits cannot be lost or damaged. One drop of water can quickly evaporate, just like the good results of an action. Dedicating good deeds is like putting that drop of water into the ocean: it will remain there as long as the ocean does not dry up.
