There are many types of Eagle Dances for many purposes, and each one embodies a vision or prayer and makes it an event, a motion, so that its power is felt on earth and then amplified. It is also called an "Honor Dance," and accompanied with song is used to honor people and things. There are other honor dances, and people honor gifts such as hats, belts, moccasins, through wearing them in an honor dance. Such a gift is not fully owned or honored until it has been "danced." The word "dance" itself is used to refer to everything, every life process.
