So maybe cockroaches are messengers of this spirit of the boundary, this push from inside to change — the call from our deepest nature that fills us with anxiety. By triggering in us an awareness of our shifting inner ground and introducing disorder and anxiety into our thoughts, they act as initiators that disrupt the quiet stability of the status quo. Maybe their presence nudges us to approach this edge of chaos, so that we may touch a primal force of self-organization and unfolding — a force of newness and emergence.
