Belief in these twin miracles became the ticket to heaven, shifting attention away from what Jesus had taught by word and example: that the transcendental kingdom of god is always experientially at hand, here and now, open to all, beyond belief, no ticket required. Through his crystal-clarity of realization and poetic beauty of expression, he became an undying embodiment of that openness, in the form of omnidirectional, limitless love, which cannot be constrained by anything, least of all by what we think about him.
