There is such a solid relationship among generations that children are free to roam around the village with the knowledge that they will be taken care of, that someone will always be there to hear them or to witness their experiences. The children know they are not identified solely with their parents, but they have a whole village and tribe within which they can have many mothers and fathers. This is an invaluable and irreplaceable gift — they are made to truly feel a part of a community, and are valued and cared for by many.
