The church is the people who are believers, to whom the risen Christ says, as he once said to the disciples: 'He who hears you hears me.' But on the other side of the church are the people who are poor and suffering. About them he says: 'He who visits them visits me', and with these people he identifies himself through his humiliation to the point of death on the Roman cross. In the crucified people, the crucified Christ is present and calls the righteous to himself.
