In his wise book Sadhana: The Realization of Life, Nobel Prize-winning poet Rabindranath Tagore notes, "There are many who imagine action to be opposed to freedom. They think that activity, being in the material plane, is a restriction of the free spirit of the soul. But we must remember: The soul finds its freedom in action." The texts of the Upanishads say the same thing: "In the midst of activity alone wilt thou desire to live a hundred years."
