Freedom is found not in some particular new experience, but in the mind of no clinging, where the gears of attachment are disengaged. Another "mantra" that can remind us of the possibility of freedom now is: "It doesn't matter to what we don't cling." We don't have to wait for a special experience in order not to cling. We can practice freedom right now. This doesn't mean we close off to feelings and experience. The mind of no clinging is open and vast. It is receptive to everything, but holds on to nothing.
