Mick described an experience he had once had of awakened sensuality shared with a hummingbird. Working in his studio in the woods, he noticed that a hummingbird had flown in through the open door and had become trapped inside, searching for a way out and bumping into the overhead skylight. Mick opened the windows to his studio, but the bird could not manage to find them. After some time, the bird seemed quite distressed.

Mick was standing very still watching the bird, not wanting to frighten it any further, when suddenly, the hummingbird flew right up to within inches of his face and hovered there for a few seconds — the two creatures, man and bird, just looking at each other. Slowly, Mick raised his forefinger and the bird alighted on it, a delicate breath of sensation. He then carefully walked some thirty feet across the room and out the door, in relaxed harmony with the little being on his finger. Once outside, the hummingbird stroked his finger several times with its bill before lifting off.
