In order to create a decent society, first of all we need to treat our own experience with decency. This is the hardest thing for all of us to do, and it's the hardest thing to do moment to moment. But a good society has to begin as simply as this. When you apply friendliness, sympathy, and compassion to yourself, you project harmony. If decency doesn't apply to you, you can't apply it anywhere.
