The evolutionary story embodies several contradictions and incomplete scenarios. Those seeking evidence for a rational God do not meet with much reassurance. Extravagance, imagination, wildness, and proclivity characterize so many unfolding sequences. And yet there are long epochs during which one wonders if anything at all is happening or if the whole thing has not come to a bizarre and tragic end. But it never does, and I suspect that it never will. This is mystery writ large.
