Jesus came to deliver us from the fear that obscures our vision of the real world, the real world his Father created, the authentic world in which we can be joyfully confident in the providence of our loving Father no matter what we experience in life. Time and again Jesus told us, "Be not afraid." "Why are you anxious?" "If you only had the faith of a mustard seed. . . ." "Fear not! I am with you!" . . . As Romans 8:28 tells us, "We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose."
