What an elemental cry. From the child who awakens in the middle of the night to ask for a glass of water to the Afghani farmer scratching at dry soil and praying for rain, human beings the world over rely on clean fresh water for their health and survival. Jesus' entreaty from the cross ripples through the pleas of billions of men, women, and children who lack safe drinking water or adequate sanitation. Around the world, waterways are drying up or dying of pollution.
