Once we've been socialized, conditioning is the "default setting" in life. When we're not paying attention, we automatically revert to our learned orientation. Then we "wake up" and find ourselves conscious, present, aware, and we experience life as it is. The next moment we fail to practice being awake, conditioning grabs the wheel. Over and over again. This is a real argument for a consistent awareness practice.
