All authentic creative acts arise from our deepest self, the place where imagination and spirit are born. Imagination and spirit are twin reflections of our relationship to the self, and though not identical, they cannot be separated. We even speak of the spirit of imagination that a work of art contains. If we live in a way that crushes our spirit, our imagination may be damaged to the same degree. No matter what creative form we choose, our truest work comes about when we nourish who we are. This is the root of true and intimate expression.
